Have V2.1 installed and was following the steps to create a valence21l instance using instructions found in the Valence Admin and Progr Guide v2.1.20100322.0.

Following steps on page 120 step 23.

Tried to sign on and got "user id not found" I was using "vvadmin" as user id and password.

HELP please

Are you using "Valence" or "System i" login mode?

Not sure. But I can't sign on to Valence21 or Valence21L environments.

I can only assume that you are running in System i mode and user VVADMIN does not exist on your System i.

Check file VVVSQ100. You should see a record for "LOGIN_METHOD", ensure that the value of field VVVALUE is set to VALENCE. If not, change it.

Changed the file in both libraries. systemi to valence

Now it working and I can sign on.
